Uganda Science Education Programme
USEP was set up in 2009, by and under the auspices of the Brothers of Christian Instruction and the Little Sisters of St Francis. The core value and purpose for setting up USEP was to improve science teaching by focusing on teachers and enjoyable, interactive and purposeful learning of science by students. The Uganda Science Education Programme (USEP) was born out of the need and passion of educationists to see students choosing and enjoying learning science subjects.
In 2015, the founding funder for the Uganda Science Education Programme commissioned us to guide this organisation towards financial sustainability. Over the following three years, as our first assignment under the ‘Fit for Funding’ programme, we helped them to develop a new constitution, register with the Uganda NGO Board, establish new financial systems and establish a comprehensive Human Resource Manual. Becoming a compliant for international donors gave them a new confidence in resource mobilisation, culminating in winning a global award from Total group.
“We have been transformed by Fundraising Training Ltd – with their guidance and hard work, we now have a new strategy, a new theory of change and a completely new Board, committed to growing our organisation. In particular, we have gained so much from the professionalism of Carol Onyadi in developing our HR systems and Veronica Mundrua, who has rebuilt our financial systems.”
